Data are from the Access to Care files of the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey (MCBS), and representative of the Medicare population who are continuously enrolled in Medicare throughout the calendar year. The Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey (MCBS) is a continuous, multipurpose survey of a nationally representative sample of aged and disabled Medicare beneficiaries residing in both the community and long-term care facilities.
